Audience: All faculty who teach in the MD Undergraduate Program, Postgraduate Medical Education Program, and Health Professional Programs.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshops

This workshop series aims to guide and facilitate discussions about how generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tools intersect with medical and health professions education.

    CAME Webinars

    Audience: All faculty who teach in the MD Undergraduate Program, Postgraduate Medical Education Program, and Health Professional Programs.

    The Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME) webinar series is designed to bring practical, evidence- and experience based advice to Canadian health educators. The webinars offer an exciting opportunity to engage online with an expert and with colleagues in a live discussion on a key topic in medical education. In order to register, you need to be affiliated with UBC.

    Accreditation: Earn up to 11 certified Mainpro+® credits or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Section 1 credits. The total hours (11.0) is for the entire series. Each webinar is 1.0 Section 1 hour/1.0 CFPC Mainpro+ credit/per hour.

      Integrated Community Clerkship (ICC) Breakfast Club

      Audience: All faculty who teach in Integrated Community Clerkships and Northern Regional Integrated Clerkships (NRICs)
      Accreditation: This series is accredited.

      Each 1-hour session includes 15 minutes of presentation, led by a seasoned preceptor, and 45 minutes of discussion with ICC/NRIC peers to share perspectives and answer questions around a teaching topic. Sessions are accredited, and session recordings and resources are posted on the dedicated ICC page for all past sessions.

      Teacher Certificate Program (TCP)

      Audience: All faculty who teach in the MD Undergraduate Program and Postgraduate Medical Education Program

      The Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) aims to equip teachers in medical education with the basic knowledge and skills to teach effectively. TCP is divided into two programs: TCP 1 focuses on foundational teaching and TCP 2 extends the learning. The two programs are entirely separate, with no prerequisites, and can be completed in any order.

      Postgraduate Medical Education Program

      Residency Program Leaders’ Hive

      Audience: All Program Directors, Associate Program Directors and Site Directors

      This initiative by PGME and Faculty Development aims to bring leaders of residency programs together to learn about common topics. Each session has dedicated facilitator to give a short presentation on a topic followed by a group discussion.

      Facing the Unexpected & Extraordinary: What you didn’t know you would need to know

      What would you do if you had reporters calling asking about your program? Or if your resident suddenly stopped showing up and was not reachable?  Or if one of your residents was arrested? This Postgraduate Medical Education Program Workshop is all about “what you didn’t think you needed to know,” be it legal matters, human rights, freedom of information, media relations or serious professionalism issues.
