Creating a learning and working environment that is respectful, inclusive, and diverse is a priority for the Faculty of Medicine as outlined in the Culture Transformation plan. Though most learning environments at UBC are viewed very positively by residents and faculty, from time-to-time challenges or negative experiences can occur.
This module is informed by the Faculty of Medicine expectations for an inclusive learning environment free from gender bias, and provides guidance for faculty, learners and staff on how to address actions that are not aligned with those expectations. It provides an introduction to inclusion and equitable treatment based on gender identity and it is intended to promote collaborative discussions that result in collective learning and commitments to change.
